We are committed to protecting your privacy and only collect the minimum data necessary to provide scam awareness training.

1. Information We Collect
Automatically Collected (App):
- Device information (device ID, OS version, model) – for notifications and crash reporting
- Push notification tokens – for scheduled quiz reminders only
- App usage data (screens viewed, quiz results, lesson progress) – stored locally on device
- IP address – used temporarily during lesson content updates (no storage)
User-Provided Information:
None. The App requires no account creation, registration, or personal input.
Lesson Content:
Public educational content downloaded from GitHub Pages (scam awareness lessons). Content is stored locally for offline use – no user data transmitted.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information exclusively to:
- Deliver scheduled quiz notifications (core app function)
- Store quiz/lesson progress locally on your device
- Download new scam awareness lessons in background
- Debug crashes and improve app stability
We do NOT use data for:
- Advertising or tracking
- Profiling or behavioral analysis
- Selling or sharing with third parties
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Your data is NEVER shared with third parties.
- Expo Push Notifications: Receives push tokens only (encrypted, industry standard)
- GitHub Pages: Serves public lesson content only (no user data transmitted)
- No advertising networks, analytics services, or data brokers in the App
4. Data Storage and Security
- All user data stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage
- Lesson content cached locally for offline access
- Push notification tokens handled securely by Expo (encrypted)
- Regular app updates include security improvements
- No cloud storage of personal data
5. This Website
When you visit this website, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use it. Google Analytics may collect pages visited, general location (e.g., country or region), and device/browser type. 6. Children's Privacy
ScamSkeptic does not target children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children. The app is designed for adult scam awareness training.
7. Your Privacy Rights

- Right to delete: Uninstall app or clear app data (Settings → Apps → ScamSkeptic → Storage → Clear Data)
- Right to opt-out: Disable notifications in device settings
- California CCPA: No "sale" or "sharing" of personal information
- EU GDPR: Data processed for legitimate app functionality
8. Third-Party Services
- Expo Development Platform: Push notifications only (no analytics)
- GitHub Pages: Public lesson content hosting only
- Website: Google Analytics for site usage analytics
- No Firebase, Crashlytics, advertising SDKs, social media, or tracking pixels in the App
9. Data Retention
- Local usage data: Stored until app uninstall
- Push tokens: Deleted upon uninstall or notification opt-out
- Lesson content: Cached until newer version downloaded
- Website analytics: As needed for understanding site usage

Push notification tokens may be processed by Expo servers in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption and security measures.
